Day 2: Visit Fes with a local guide

  • After breakfast, a full-day city tour of Fes. The holy city of Fes is a jewel of the Arab-Spanish civilization. Fes does not reveal its secrets quickly: secret, dark, that must be discovered gradually, with reverence. Only in this way can the splendor of Medersa architecture be fully appreciated. Only in this way does the call of the medina tempt you. Filled with artisans and merchants, its captivating sounds, fragrances, and colors will amaze the visitor with a constant swirl of activity. The city of Moulay Idriss was first the sanctuary of human and moral sciences. The great Karaouiyne University for eleven centuries, the religions and an intellectual center whose influence has extended far beyond the limits of the kingdom. Leaving the souks through the Boujeloud gate with its green and blue faience decoration, the riches contained in the beautiful Museum of Moroccan Art await an optional lunch in the Medina and shopping in the afternoon. Accommodation at a Riad

Day 3: Fes – Cedar Forest – ziz Valley – Merzouga

  • We will leave for the desert, visiting various towns, among which Ifrane stands out, also known as Moroccan Switzerland, for the architecture of its buildings. Located at 1,630 meters above sea level, it has the only two ski resorts in the Middle Atlas. A city founded by the French in the 1920s for their vacations, it has maintained its fame as a place of well-off tourism and young university students. Do not forget to take a photo with his “lion of the Atlas,” sculpted in stone by a prisoner of the Second World War. We will continue the journey through the Ziz Valley, with its more than 18,000 palm trees flooding the path to the desert Erfoud, “the door of the desert” with vegetation. Currently famous for its works with fossils, we will visit a factory where they will explain the origin of these animals of more than 350 million years, and we will be able to witness how the stones are treated in a long work of washing, polishing, and carving, to create accessories or parts for the home. Finally, we will continue to the dunes of Erg Chebbi—dinner and accommodation at the Hotel.

Day 4: Explore Merzouga – 4×4 desert tour

  • After breakfast, we will visit Khamlia, the so-called “Gnawa” town; they are excellent musicians and have made this art their way of life, and with them, we will enjoy a small concert of Gnawa music. We will return to the 4×4 to visit one of the tracks used in the “Paris-Dakar Rally,” visiting Mfiss, the khol mines, and the remains of a French and Berber town. We will make a panoramic stop to contemplate the sandy desert comprising the Erg Chebbi. We will visit some nomads in the desert. We can have tea and learn more about their way of life. After passing through the 4×4 cars museum, we will go to Rissani. In this first imperial city, we will walk through its sizeable African market, where nomads and people from nearby towns come to sell their merchandise and buy the items they need. After lunch, we will return to the hotel to rest and prepare to enter the desert. We will ride the camels that will take us through the desert while the beautiful sunset that offers spectacular colors on the sand covers us. Tonight will be unique because we will sleep in a tent camp. We will enjoy a wonderful dinner, listen to music, see the beautiful starry sky here, and have dinner and accommodation in a camp.

Day 5 : Merzouga – Berber Villages – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge

  • You can get up a little early, wanting to climb the dunes before sunrise, a spectacle like no other. After breakfast, we will return by camel or 4×4 car to the center and leave Merzouga. In just over 2 hours, you reach Tineghir, the lush oasis in the south, from which you can access the Todra Gorges. It is time to walk through the oasis, contemplating its crops and irrigation systems, and travel part of the Gorges uniquely. We continue towards the Dades Valley, between the orchards and palm groves that border the river, and we will spend the night in Raid.

Day 6 : Dades Garges – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

  • After breakfast, we will continue through the Valley of the Roses, named after the abundant cultivation of roses in the area where they make multiple rose-based products. We will pass through the town of Skoura, surrounded by a large palm grove full of abandoned Kasbahs and where the Amerdil Kasbah is also located, which can be visited and understood better as well as how the kasbahs used to be lived in the past. Arriving in Ouarzazate, you can see the film studios and studios in Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa. We will go to Marrakech through the Tiz-in-Tichka neck (2260m), the “neck of the pastures.” An alternative track makes the slope with the option of visiting the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a castle declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We take the road around the curves of the port of Tichka, which offers a spectacular panorama with many colors over the Haouz plain. Arrival in Marrakech. And spend the night in a hotel.

Day 7: Visit Marrakech with Local guide

  • After breakfast, we will start the tour of the city of Marrakech with a local guide. Another of the four imperial cities of Morocco, Marrakech is famous for its numerous monuments, which are recognized as World Heritage sites. We will visit the famous Jemaa el Fna Square, the principal place of life in the city, the scene of endless outdoor activities: jugglers, musicians, fakirs, snake charmers, minstrels … that will awaken all your senses, with its multiple sounds, aromas, flavors, and colors that characterize it. It is a pleasant and vital place, thanks also to the presence of its fabulous Souk (market). In the center of Marrakech, you can take a leisurely walk, and from here, we arrive at the Saadian tombs that were built at the time of the great Sultan Ahmad I al-Mansur (1578-1603) and used by members of the Saadi dynasty. Interior decorations are the main attraction for travelers. We will find the Koutoubia minaret, one of the most interesting Islamic monuments in North Africa. Its tower shows us different decorations on each side, and we see the gardens at its feet. We continue with the Bahia Palace, built in the 19th century (1867) by Sir Moussa, as the residence of the Sultan. Bahia means brilliant, and at the time of construction, Moroccans thought they had built the most significant building of all time. Here, we can admire a series of beautiful gardens, and later, we will reach the Majorelle Gardens. The visit will end in the afternoon: free time.

Day 8: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ouzoud Waterfalls – Marrakech

  • Depart from your hotel or riad in Marrakech direction Ouzoud. The Ouzoud waterfalls are the highest in North Africa and among the best things Morocco has to offer; they are located about 150 km from the northeast of Marrakech in the Atlas Mountains and constitute one of the most spectacular natural spots in this region. The surrounding countryside offers red cliffs, olive groves, tamarisk trees, oleander, apes, and doves. It has allowed visitors to see rural life. Along the road to this attraction, you can treat your eyes by enjoying the beautiful views of the Kasbahs and the olive trees. Hiking here is so refreshing. You can enjoy the area at any time of year; the hottest season is in July and August. Its frostiness refreshes the air around it. Warm Sun and the Smell of Hay!

There are a few restaurants where you can enjoy your lunch with a view of the waterfalls from their terraces. A short walk around the valley will bring you to the top of the falls, where you can have the best view of the falls to the bottom. Thus, during your trip to Ouzoud, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the richness of Morocco.
We’re on the road back to Marrakesh via Demnate and Imi-n-Ifri. Imi-n-Ifri is another beautiful place to visit en route. It is a natural rock bridge formed over a gorge 1.8 million years ago with an underground cave. Later, we’ll watch as the sun paints the mountains golden.

Day 9 : Marrakech – Essaouira

  • We will start our day trip from Marrakesh to Essaouira in the Morning. The departure will be after breakfast; this city is on the Atlantic coast. Therefore, Essaouira has a steady year-round temperature in the C20s, and the incredible golden beach is popular with windsurfers. Famous fresh grilled seafood is served at the port. However, the medina contains thuja wood carvers and silver craft that work under the old Portuguese ramparts,  guarding the city against the sea. In other words, Essaouira is One of Morocco’s most charming walkable medinas. It is recommended year-round, especially in summer when it relieves Marrakech heat… Overnight in Essaouira.
